Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2, 2026.

The short version: Worsted collects no personal data. There is no account and no sign-up. Your projects, counters, yarn stash, imported pattern PDFs, and photos live on your device and sync only through your own iCloud. We run no server that stores your data.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in Worsted is stored locally: project names and notes, counters and their values, your yarn stash, any pattern PDF you import, and any photos you add. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data syncs privately between your own Apple devices through Apple's CloudKit. It moves inside your Apple account. It does not pass through us.

What we do not do

  • We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal data.
  • We do not use advertising or ad tracking, and we do not use third-party analytics.
  • We do not ask you to create an account or hand over an email address to use the app.

Subscriptions

If you buy Premium or Lifetime, Apple processes the payment. We use RevenueCat to read your subscription status on your device so the app knows which features to unlock. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your subscription state. It does not receive your projects, your stash, or your files. See Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for how they handle purchase data.

Camera and photos

Worsted can use the camera to scan a yarn barcode and to take project photos, and can add photos from your library. This happens on your device with your permission. Images stay on your device and in your own iCloud. We never receive them.

Children

Worsted is a general-audience craft tool and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal data, the app does not knowingly gather information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because your data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it. You can view, edit, export, or delete anything at any time, and Settings includes a one-tap option to delete all of your data. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device. Data in your iCloud is managed through your Apple ID.

Regional rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. Worsted holds none, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on our end. If you have a question about this, contact us using the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
