How to work it
Without turning your work, insert your hook into the stitch to the right of the one you just made (to the left if you crochet left-handed), yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops. Working the wrong way along the row twists each stitch, producing a firm, ropey edge. It is the standard finish for blanket borders, bag openings, and necklines that need to stop stretching.
US and UK
This stitch is also called Reverse double crochet (UK). Always check which term set a pattern uses before you start, since the same name can mean a different stitch across the two.
