Yarn weight chart

Yarn weight runs from 0 (lace) to 7 (jumbo) on the Craft Yarn Council scale. The number tells you how thick the yarn is, which hook or needle to reach for, and roughly how many stitches will fit in four inches. Lower numbers are finer; higher numbers are chunkier. The ranges below are typical guidance, so always swatch to confirm your own gauge.
